1. PRACTICE:  thank you for helping us have good rehearsals this week with preparation, focus, and effort!  Please practice this weekend to help us keep moving forward, and be ready for our clinics in class next week.  A reminder that Practice Journals are due next week.

2. PASSOFF DEADLINE:  a reminder that the deadline for 4th six weeks passoffs is 2:50p on Friday, February 9.  Students will have one opportunity to play in class next week, and should take advantage of practice club, Plus, or make other arrangements if more attempts are needed.

3. MARTIN PRE-UIL:  due to the ongoing auditorium renovation at Martin, AHS will be hosting our Martin Orchestra friends for their Pre-UIL on Thursday, February 8.  We will need student help to make this a success, and will have multiple shifts available for service hours.  Watch Twitter and Remind for notification that the signups have been posted in the Orchestra Hall (sometime Monday).

4. FINAL TRIP PAYMENT:  a reminder that the final NOLA trip payment is due Thursday, February 8.  The full trip balance should be paid by this time.  Please check Charms to see how much you owe for the trip.

5. MOVIE NIGHT:  our next social event is Friday, February 9 at 3:30p!!!  We’ll have popcorn provided by the booster club, guys will bring drinks, and girls will bring snack foods.  Come hang out with your orchestra family and have fun!  Watch Twitter and Remind for the link to vote for the movie to be shown.

6. PRE-UIL & UIL TIMES:  specific times and information for Pre-UIL and UIL will be given to students in class Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (will also be posted on Charms).

1. PRACTICE:  please remember to practice every day this weekend and walk in knowing your part next week so that we can be ready for our upcoming clinics!!!  UIL is approaching faster than you think.  Will you be ready to help your group give an awesome performance?!?

2. BOOSTER MEETING:  our next booster meeting is Tuesday, January 30, at 7:00 pm in the AHS Orchestra Hall.  We hope to see you there!

3. FWSO REHEARSAL:  the FWSO open rehearsal is next Friday, February 2.  Participating students will receive reminders in class next week.  We can’t wait!

4. FINAL TRIP PAYMENT:  the final trip payment is due February 8.  Balances should be zero after this final payment.  Please check Charms to see how much you owe.

5. MOVIE NIGHT:  Movie Night is February 9 at 3:30p in the Orchestra Hall!!!  Come have fun and popcorn with your friends!  More details to come…

1. FWSO OPEN REHEARSAL:  we have the wonderful opportunity for AHS Orchestra students to attend an open dress rehearsal of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra on Friday, February 2, during the school day!!!  Students were given information in class this week (also available on Charms).  Permission slips are due back no later than NEXT Friday, January 19.

2. PASSOFFS:  passoffs for the fourth six weeks begin next week.  Students received their assignments in class this week.

3. PRACTICE JOURNALS:  students were notified this week of a change to practice journals effective with the current journal.  Practice journals are now an extra credit opportunity.  Students must complete a minimum of five practice sessions and the reflection questions to receive 50 points of extra credit, and may complete additional sessions for 10 additional points each (up to ten total sessions for a 100).  Journals are still due on the first class day after each two week cycle, and must be turned in on the day due for credit.  STUDENTS SHOULD STILL BE PRACTICING DAILY!!!  The journals are still a tool we encourage students to use to organize their practice.

4. REGION HELP:  AHS is hosting the TMEA Region 5 All-Region Orchestra on January 19-20, and we need a lot of student help to make it happen!  Sign ups for student helpers are posted in the Orchestra Hall.  This is an approved service hour opportunity.  Officers will receive a separate email with details.  Sign up ASAP!!!

5. NEED TISSUES:  cold and flu season is here and the Orchestra Hall is in need of tissues!  Students may bring in any donations of tissue boxes at any time.  Thank you!!!

6. SYMPHONY REHEARSAL:  a reminder that Symphony has required rehearsal Tuesday from 4-6p.  See you then!
